2 SOUTH
GRANVILLE
CENTRE
PROPERTY
2600 Granville Street, Vancouver British Columbia
DESCRIPTION
This property is a mixed use office/retail building comprising one
city block between 10th and 11th Avenue in Vancouvers prestigious
South Granville District.
HISTORY
The building on site was built in 2 phases between 1963 and 1980.
MANAGEMENT
CHALLENGE
The anchor office tenant had given notice to vacate and the office
entrance was in an awkward location at the corner of the property.
As well, the exterior façade of the building and canopy treatment
did not capitalize on the prestige of the South Granville location
and dominance of the property.
SOLUTION
Undertake a substantial renovation to locate the office lobby to Granville
Street. Create a 15,000 square foot corner retail opportunity, and
provide a new upgrade, façade, canopy and signage package.
The property is now anchored by the giant US home furnishing retailer,
The Pottery Barn, along with a 5,000 square foot Eveline Charles Salon
& Spa making South Granville Centre a landmark retail destination.
